Those suffering with eyesight impairments have always been a main target of PINA Sri Lanka’s activities. We have donated hundreds of thousands of spectacle frames, which are often unaffordable to people suffering with sight problems. We have also conducted numerous Health Camps all over the country, at times with collaborators, where doctors checked patient’s eyes free of charge and spectacle frames were donated to those who needed them.

Yet PINA went further by collaborating with the Lions Club in Sri Lanka, which built a state-of-the-art Eye Hospital in Panadura to provide medical facilities, necessary operations and specialist medical experts to its patients. PINA provided the hospital with some very much needed highly-specialist medical equipment to the Eye Hospital. These included:

·         An Opthalmic Operating Microscope

·         A Phaco Machine

In 2010 PINA aided Dr. Soma Edirisingha with the initiation of an Eye Hospital in Gothatuwa New Town and stoof by her, the Lions Club and Janasarana throughout its construction. At its soft opening on the 20th of January 2011 PINA also gifted valuable medical equipment in in worth of 1.8 Million Rupees, which included:

                -              Eye Sight Measuring Equipment

                -              Lensometer
