Post War Aid by PINA Sri Lanka
For three decades a tragic war
ravaged our beautiful island, killing too many innocent lives,
destroying entire habitats and hindering the development of Sri Lanka.
2009 dawned with hope that there the possibility of a future that is
free of violence, where all ethnicities can live amongst each other in
peace and unity and Sri Lanka can finally grow to its full potential.
The path to recovery and
rebuilding will be a long and difficult one.
P I
N A has vouched to remain by the side of the people and has
commenced projects in the Internally Displaced Persons Camps together
with the Sri Lankan Government and other local organisations who have
the well-being of the Sri Lankan people at heart, irrespective of their
ethnic origin or religious background or social status.
As part of our post-war aid
venture, the Founder & Chairman of
P I
N A in Sri Lanka, in a joint collaboration with the
Janasarana organisation, members the Sri Lankan Social Ministry and
other local organisations and sponsoring firms travelled in an
insightful venture to the IDP camps in the North of Sri Lanka to speak
to the inhabitants of their needs and to determine the required
necessities of the camps.
Accordingly,
P I N A has decided to carry out
several projects, including sponsoring 1,000 water buckets to the
residents of these water-deprived areas and planning further quick-aid
projects in the region and seeking sponsorship for further long-term
ventures to help these needy people to return to normal life. |
